Physical. Mental. Spiritual. These are the three phases I have observed myself going through starting when I was in high school. Obsessions about weight, nutrition, and fitness turned into mental health work with OCD/anxiety/depression treatment, which turned into spiritual healing and mindfulness. I found myself switching from tennis, basketball, and soccer to crossfit and consistent weight lifting to now, a more outdoor lifestyle with walking, and sprinkling in meditation, yoga, journaling, and quiet solitude.
Balance. This is one word I use when I look back and see how I have changed. Long gone are my patterns of “all in and then burnt out.” I have taken on a more holistic way of being and am so much happier with a balance and a strong ability to listen to my body, my mind, and my soul.
These phases have given me a sense of where I’ve been and where I am now. I am able to have a more well-rounded lifestyle with different abilities and interests, and less structure, anxiety, and boundaries.
