During my meditation this morning it really started to make sense.
Who is the observer of your thoughts? You-no one else! This offers a unique opportunity to understand what the word observe means and how that offers a liberating sense of non commitment.
“Observe:” to notice or perceive something.
Does this say “to attach to something, to be represented by something, to make as your own?” Does this say “something that is a reflection of yourself?” To observe is a verb not a noun; it’s not an attachment or an identity.
There is freedom in the sense of not needing to attach to anything you think, and meditation is simply that: practicing non attachment.
